I've always thought that we should give thanks that every day lasts 24hours. In God's design, it's such that in 24hours time, the sun rises from the east again, and all is new. It is grace. A pattern. A pattern to remind us that we can start afresh. That we can try again. That we can put away what is wrong from yesterday and set things right.
If I don't make up my mind to tread a different path from yesterday, if I persist in my inaction, nothing will change. Remember, don't do the same thing which you did yesterday. Don't be contented to do the same thing which I did wrong yesterday. Yes, just as I have told the youths that in this period of "youth", I have seen many repeatedly exercise their faith and hence draw nearer and closer to Christ. I have also witnessed many who repeatedly fail to exercise their faith and hence fall away from Christ. This exhortation comes back to me now. Will I repeatedly exercise my faith and draw nearer to Christ, or will I repeatedly fail to exercise my faith and fall away from Christ? 1. Live each day in the light of Christ's imminent coming. 2. Remember the Saviour and His salvation everyday. 3. Trust in God's guidance (which is backed up by His promise to those who belong to Him). These 3 points are the advice which I gave to the youths. Now it's coming back to me.
Enough said. Now it's time for the doing. Isn't true love for God marked by obedience? Isn't the righteous path the pathway of blessing? Isn't He the Rewarder of those who seek Him out? So then, it is not in the saying or the person who shares the most. It is in the doing. Deep in my heart, I am hoping and praying that among the youths, there will be many who will have eternal rewards which surpass me. Those who don't speak alot but have been quietly practising all that they hear. Those will be truly blessed. Yes, so then, let me run the race so as to attain the prize, for fear that I have preached to others, and I myself disqualified.
1 Corinthians 9
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25 Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
Your strength is made complete in my weaknesses. Yes, and weaknesses, I have many.
2 Corinthians 12
9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
Goodnight.
