I am mere man. Like you.

Today, I was sharing with a younger brother during prayer. I hesitated for a while and decided to be as forthright and honest with him as I could. I shared with him, my burden, that I was suffering a lack of self-control over gaming and that I should consider removing it completely. Or that I should be strengthened with the resolve to remove it. "I thought you had a lot of self-control?" was his response. I think he was kinda surprised. This reminds me. We need to teach the young ones, that as much as they look up to us, we are but mere man. Like them. Bearing the same weaknesses, flaws, the same inclinations towards sin. We battle, we fall, we obey, we disobey. Just like them.

We need to help them see thoroughly that none of us, can perfect anything. None of us can live a completely victorious Christian life on our own. We desperately need to embrace and acknowledge our own weaknesses and rely on Christ every moment of our life.

I pray that they will grow to understand this, the sooner the better.

Psalm 144
3     O Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You think of him?
4     Man is like a mere breath;
His days are like a passing shadow.
