SAJC 05S72 Reunion (and for those who're suffering from the 2nd INTAKE fever)

Missed the chance to cry. Well, had I skipped Physics Practical and brought along a SAINTS T-Shirt, I would have teared. But of course, I've made a promise together with someone that I will not skip any lessons or lectures throughout these 2 years and I will uphold it till the end.

Sorry guys, I couldn't come with you for dinner. Next time, when we're parents, we'll understand the disappointment of not being able to eat dinner with your son. But I never regret coming down even if it's just to say hi and goodbye. It means a lot to me.

Sometimes, in certain situations, if you haven't teared, then you haven't savoured the best of the experience. Tearing happens when your emotions are simply overwhelming and you can no longer contain them. Cheers. The SA spirit is so strong. I could feel it even as I stood watching outside the door. Yeah. And only spirits linger around NJC.

No. I'm not complaining about NJC. Even though I sweated through mass dance without moving a limb at an angle greater than 45degrees, the uniform I'm wearing belongs to a fire-fighter and "fun" is most often seen only on wristbands, there's still much to cheer about. Little things like singing the College Anthem or College Song each morning, sucking up pearls from a plastic cup and yes, wearing the NJC uniform itself are worth being happy about.

Many's goals were to go to a certain JC. They got in. Yet they regret it. What happened? I believe they held too high expectations for their "dream" JC, so much so that they only see the bad points of the college. Isn't it the same case for husbands and wives?

No one is perfect.

"We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly." - Sam Keen, from To Love and Be

Regardless of whether is it your life, school, wife, husband or friends, learn to be happy and appreciate the good points about them. However small they might be. Accept them as they come and you'll immediately find that hey, they're not so bad afterall. Only after you appreciate and love their good points, will you even bother and care to correct and help the subject improve.

Over the years, I've learnt that happiness or optimism is such a powerful energy that it gives you that extra drive each day. That extra thing to look forward to each day. Stop saying "I hate the school and I hate his face."

Find something good about the person or the school.
Remember it.
and remember it in your heart.

If you don't believe this, no one can force you to.

"The only person who can stop me from being happy is myself"
Tian Meng

woah. this is a very enlightening entry i must say. I agree with the over-expectation part on dream jcs. u shld write more or this stuff. even tho a lot of the things u have written down are known deep down in our hearts, just reading it gives another different experience.
