Search your heart and ask, what really, is your dream? Face off with yourself.
No really, c'mon, don't kid yourself. What do you want in life? Your dreams fulfilled, or His Kingdom, His glory, and full submission to it in your heart? Does that excite you at all? Is doing God's will, satisfying and joyful to you, such that you say "my food is to do the will of the one who sent me" ?
Sometimes, we get tired out in life. As I allowed my mind to wander to that state for a moment, while walking home. Don't you ever wish that some things in your life could change?
"I could do so much better if this, this and this aren't the way they are now."
Perhaps you wish schoolwork could be lesser.
Perhaps you wish army training could end now, and everyday is off or block leave.
Perhaps you wish your siblings or your parents would stop quarreling.
Perhaps you wish you could get that module or that project that you want.
Perhaps you wish you could land your perfect spouse now.
Perhaps you wish you could finish school now.
The list goes on..
Don't you always wish that your life could be different, that you could alter some things... Wouldn't that be perfect?
Then you say.. ah... then.... I will be able to live a good life and glorify God.
Really?
What if God's plan and God's will for you is to,
Learn to be hardworking and study for the glory of God, better as each day goes by.
Learn to endure tough physical training and yet not succumb to the pressure to sin. That you still hold fast God's holiness, while being worn out physically.
Learn how "a gentle answer turns away wrath" and learn how to resolve conflicts at home, how to love.
Learn and find out that what God has given is indeed better and best. And even while doing something you don't like in itself, you find joy ultimately in pleasing God through the process.
Learn patience, watchful prayer, spiritual wisdom & discernment, self-control in speech, battle lustful thoughts, and learning to maximise fully this momentary gift of singleness by serving fellow brethren wholeheartedly?
Learn well, how to glorify God in studies so that you can better glorify God in working life. Specifically, be set apart from the world in how you view your grades, time and your value judgement.
What if God's plan and God's will for you is to glorify Him through much pain and suffering and endurance, through the painful process of wrestling with sin, that thing you treasure? Wrestling with your soul until you yield perfectly, to obey Christ, that self may perish and Christ may liveth in you?
What if God demands your all, and you, to be His slave. And indeed, it is so.
