Lights, flashes, crackers, banners.
Ataturk offered seats but they stood.
Eyes locked, souls hooked.
One night, one team.
One ball to win.
By the hour,
Half the hearts were pierced, wrought.
Thrice we froze,
Hearts bled, dead, lost, schock.
HAIL!
One red for the destiny of all,
He is the red light to the darkest hour.
Possessed by believe, red-passion surging through him.
He showed ten others the way,
And the impossible was played.
I shouted the shout and punched the air,
Die-hards around the world, red surge in their veins.
Eleven euphoric faces on the screen,
Eleven billion more
To complete the fifth red-page in history.
Incredibly Incredible
And it will be told,
To my sons of sons.
For never will there be
A night like this.
"The cup ended up in Steven Gerrard's bed last night, he wouldn't let go of it."
Liverpool's Chief Executive Rick Parry
