Sure of what I was doing,
Unsure of how to do it.
A million words, I do not have,
I am the least you can get.
It struck me hard,
When I heard of your imminent leave.
The same way it did a year ago,
Except that someone already did.
I was not to allow a repeat.
Each time I felt my old wound,
I was confident of what I had to do.
Smiles on our faces,
But what's in our hearts?
Happiness?
Grieve?
Torn?
Relief?
For a short while, we spoke,
Even as you drag your luggage slowly out of my eyes,
Many things about me, you may not know.
A sweet jazz tune circled above my ears. I trudged off.
Know just one.
You may go, the world may change,
But my love for friends insists to stay.

hey..lei fong here.nice poems, dint noe u were so sentimental=)3 frens going abroad...but dun b too dejected.. rmbr in higher chinese we learnt the proverb "tian xia wu bu shan zi yan xi". yeah in life ppl will part somehow or other but im sure u could always keep in touch via email, msn, phone and anyway for frens going abroad to study or even migrating, im sure they'd return to singapore sometime even if it's yrs later, if not u could always fly over and visit them during hols..
'the world may change' i guess whether ppl like it or not life just goes on..cant believe u r still in the same school as Denise Ng since primary sch in rmps.
for most of us from primary 6a parted since after psle and im sure many of your RV classmates and schmates u noe have parted to different jcs already..i think whether your frens went overseas or r in a diff jc in singapore, it's pretty much the same in the way u might not get the time to meet up so often anw owing to the busy jc schedule..but im sure u could always organise gatherings at the end of the year and catch up with one another, by dec or jan your aussie frens shld b back in singapore for their summer hols.
cheer up k? continue posting poems and quickly get a tag box!
